Photonics4Life aims at the involvement of physicians in the development of Biophotonic tools at all stages, e.g. before developing Biophotonic tools for application on patients the needs and demands of physicians must be known in detail. At the final stages of their development the applications of Biophotonic tools under real-world-conditions must ensure that these tools are not only suited for their dedicated use, but have also the appropriate robustness and satisfy the demands for easy-to-use systems.
On Wednesday Italian researchers have won the first prize in the Innovation Village Awards of the Photonics Europe, the largest conference on optical research in Europe. The group from the Biophotonics network Photonics4Life beat 16 other projects in the contest with a handy device that stops bleedings with light. [more]

The aim of this school is to support early pharmaceutical research by training young post-PhD investigators, by promoting the exchange of knowledge, supporting skills and know-how and providing access to various technologies.
