Saratov Fall Meeting (SFM'09)

XIII International School for Junior Scientists and Students on Optics, Laser Physics & Biophotonics will be held on September 21 - 24, 2009, Saratov, Russia. It is organized by the member of P4L – Saratov State University.

 

The main goal of the School is to involve international community of junior researches and students in the field of recent developments and applications of laser and optical technologies in medicine and biology, coherent optics of random and ordered media, material and environmental sciences, nonlinear dynamics of laser systems, laser spectroscopy and molecular modeling.

 

Workshops and Seminars: Optical Technologies in Biophysics & Medicine XI; Coherent Optics of Ordered and Random Media X; Laser Physics and Photonics XI; Spectroscopy and Molecular Modeling X; Modern Optics VIII; Electromagnetics of Microwaves, Submillimeter and Optical Waves IX; Luminescence V; Nanobiophotonics V; Internet Biophotonics II; Microscopic and Low-Coherence Methods in Biomedical and Non-Biomedical Applications II; Telemedicine IV; History, Methodology and Philosophy of the Optical Education II; English as a Communicative Tool in the Scientific Community VIII; Workshop on Management of High Technologies Commercialization and Regional Innovation Systems VI.

 

SFM has a prolonged experience in organizing of Internet sessions during last 11 years. In 2007-2008 such presentations have included plenary lectures made by P4L leaders: Kishan Dholakia, School of Physics and Astronomy, University of St. Andrews, UK; Jeurgen Popp, Institute of Photonic Technology, Jena, Germany; and Paul M. Physicians show, where it needs to shine

8 December 2011

On Wednesday, December 7, an international consortium of doctors evaluated on going research projects within Photonics4Life Consortium in Karlsruhe that can better diagnose and treat diseases with the help of optical technologies. At a scientific meeting of the interdisciplinary network Photonics4Life 19 European projects were presented. From those the doctors now selected eight that are the most promising to be put into clinic trials. The project leaders can now present their winning projects across Europe at several important occasions.  [more]
