BioPIC 2013 is an international interdisciplinary conference bridging the Physical and Life Sciences in Imaging applications. The target audience ranges from research leaders who wish to shape bio-imaging in Europe to researchers developing new imaging techniques and those who will apply them. By bringing those with high impact biological problems to solve together with those developing sensing and imaging solutions BioPIC 2013 aims to stimulate the convergence on innovative solutions for discovery and treatment.
We are pleased to welcome our Keynote Speakers, Daniel Choquet - FRANCE, Filipe Barros - CHILE and Sergio Grinstein - CANADA.
"Join us for exciting state-of-the-art lectures and meet with experts in key imaging technologies underpinning EU Horizon 2020 and ESFRI."
International speakers include:
Topics:
European Research Strategy & Training Networks in BioPhotonics & Imaging,
Advanced Light Microscopy and Optogenetics,
Biomedical Spectroscopy,
Laser Tissue Interactions, Non-invasive Imaging,

Over the last years optical technologies have become a vital tool for innovating clinical diagnostics and are thus opening markets for photonics. Technologies like second harmonic generation or two-photon microscopy give new insights into abnormal changes in human morphology and can thereby often identify diseases better than techniques that don’t employ light. Leaders and experts will introduce various modalities of nonlinear optical microscopy and their integration on a single platform. Cutting-edge developments and applications will be shown by lectures on May 23 at Purdue University. Hands-on training will be provided on May 24 to assist the trainees in building or using different modalities of nonlinear optical microscopy. As an optional opportunity, the trainees can test their own samples on the morning of May 25. A poster session will be arranged for participants to exchange their own research. [more]
