NBIP Ireland, in affiliation with the Royal Microscopical Society (RMS) will host a Conference in October 2010 (BioPIC 2010) attracting both national and international expert speakers from the world of biophotonics and imaging to highlight the need for a pan-European research infrastructure in bioimaging. BioPIC 2010 is also seen as an opportunity for trans-national networking, building of collaborations between academia and industry and showcasing of advances in biophotonics and imaging research and technologies. The RMS has also tentatively offered to publish a special issue of the Journal of Microscopy containing papers presented at the meeting.
