Biophotonics Concertation Meeting

The aim of this event is to bring together all biophotonics projects funded by the EU, in order to present the projects as well as to exchange experiences and best practice. The projects being invited include the new projects which have been launched recently as well as the older projects.

The Commission will also use the opportunity to present upcoming funding possibilities and there will be a discussion on how to further develop the biophotonics area during the first years of Horizon 2020.

Targeted are participants of EU funded biophotonics projects in particular, but the event is also open for anyone who is interested.

You can confirm your attendance by sending an email to Elena-Anca.BIRTUM@ec.europa.eu

Round Robin Experiment

Raman spectroscopy has already proved its effectiveness in many cases for medical diagnostics such as for cancer, cardiovascular diseases and infections. However, there are no standards in the different working groups, e.g. for sample preparation, implementation of the Raman experiments, spectra pre-treatment, data evaluation, etc.In a round robin experiment, the required groundwork will take place in order to define standardised Raman measurement methods, which will be fundamental for establishing Raman spectroscopy for clinical diagnostic procedures.
