In the frame of the priority project „Light in periodic structures“ we are opening a position for 2 years, an extension being possible. Payment will be according to the German TVöD standard E13/2 TV-L.

The Institute of Applied Physics puts an experimental emphasis on structuring material with light. The candidate will work in the area of experimental investigation of light propagation in structured nonlinear optical materials. An emphasis will be on ultra fast effects, laser-induced structuring, nonlinear changes of the refractive index, and their applications in information transmission technology.

We expect applications from outstanding individuals having Master or PhD in physics or related fields, with experience in the fields mentioned above and a strong publication record. Moreover, we expect a high degree of motivation, the ability of self-responsible scientific working as well as good communication and team-working skills.

The University of Münster seeks to increase the proportion of female staff members in the faculty and therefore encourages interested female candidates to apply. Handi-capped candidates with equivalent qualifications will be given preference.
