Job Opportunity Announcement

The Institute of Applied Physics of the University of Münster offers a position as a

Scientific staff member (PhD-position)

in the framework of the recently established Transregio TRR 61 „Multilevel Molecular Assemblies“ in the area of

Nonlinear microscopy and optical tweezers.

The position is available for 3 years, an extension being possible. Payment will be according to the German TVöD standard E13/2 TV-L. The weekly working time currently is 19 hours and 55 minutes.

In the Transregio TRR 61 novel molecular assemblies and in particular molecular motors are investigated. In the framework of this project dynamics of self-organization of bacterial molecular motors in microfluidics or lab-on-a-chip environment will be investigated.

The successful candidate is supposed to work in the area of experimental investigation of bacterial molecular motors with optical tweezers and nonlinear microscopy. Prior knowledge in the area of bacteria and / or microfluidics is desired. The candidate is expected to participate in teaching duties in the Institute of Applied physics during courses.

We expect applications from outstanding individuals having a Master in physics or related fields, with experience in the fields mentioned. Moreover, we expect a high degree of motivation, the ability of self-responsible scientific working as well as good communication and team-working skills.

The University of Münster seeks to increase the proportion of female staff members in the faculty and therefore encourages interested female candidates to apply. Handi-capped candidates with equivalent qualifications will be given preference.
